degree over! part II

The most anxious feeling ever today! It was a total nightmare trying to sleep last night and not think about what I would be getting for my degree classification.

I was in all honesty expecting a 2.2 classification but no!!! I got a 2.1, I am so proud and happy that all the hard work was worth it definitely; even the tears and tantrums over wanting to quit because it was "too hard".

No more updates apart from the fact I am also now employed. I will be moving to London in 3 weeks time and starting my job as an Assistant Print Designer. I will still be very much available to do any freelance work if anyone is interested and will still be keeping at my portfolio and trying to make it better.

watch this space :) xx

final collection photoshoot

The below images are of all my garment fabrics created for my Final Collection. Each of these prints has been digitally printed aside from the second image. The second image has been hand silk-screen printed in two colours and has an overlay of cut out leather, which has been bonded to the below fabric using wonder-web.

Each of the fabrics have been beaded into to give them a heavy, luxurious appeal. The tags on each fabric has also been hand silk-screen printed by me.

This post is the Follow On Collection. Basically meaning what collection I would come up with after I finish my main collection.

This Russian inspired collection is my follow on collection. My signature style is still clearly visible through my choice of colour and scale.

This post is my own Graduate collection. This collection is what I have been working on all year at university to develop my own signature style.

My collection is about the eclectic mix between British Op & Pop art and Indian street graphics. The animated element to this collection is what I believe makes me stand out as a designer.

The British Fashion Council collaborated with Adidas to bring this brief to students. The brief was a reference to the 2012 Olympics. It was of up most importance that I used their brand identity to create something new and edgy with my textiles.

Here are some more pages from my portfolio.

I was one of ten finalists that placed for this National Dorothy Perkins competition.
